My Unicorn Girl Episode Summary - A College Romance Drama (2024)

I saw My Unicorn Girl (穿盔甲的少女) having pretty high views on YouTube and it made me decide to watch it as well. Coming from a heavy drama in Go Ahead, I just want something easy to digest without needing to reach for a tissue right now. So, this fits the bill. I’m not having any high expectations for this one. Hence, as long as it is not too boring, I think I would be satisfied. Nevertheless, you can check out my My Unicorn Girl review later when I’m done watching. Let’s start with the episode summary now!

Episode 1

Sang Tian manages to get into Liuye University after passing the figure skating entrance exam because a rival, Meng Na, fails to show up. Sang Tian is also a cross-dresser who pretends to be a man to earn money as a ice hockey player. Her younger brother, Sang Zhan, has been admitted to the Shuren Business School and Sang Tian is there to do the registration for him.

Wen Bing, a ice hockey star player, is also at the school but he has no interest to study there. He gets his assistant who is also his maternal uncle, Cheng Min Jun, to take his place without his mother’s knowledge. Min Jun ends up sharing the same dorm as Sang Zhan. Meng Na is interested in Wen Bing but the latter has no interest in her.

Sang Tian and Wen Bing start off on the wrong footing when he accidentally enters the ladies. They both think the other is a pervert as Sang Tian is dressed up as a man. An encounter with a tarot-reading granny at the bus stop predicts that Sang Tian will get entangled by a dark thread and her luck will change. True enough her bag zipper accidentally hooks Wen Bing’s dark knitted sweater and the thread begins to loosen. That encounter results in an accidental kiss.

After the kiss, Sang Tian’s luck turns bad. Her rented apartment is on fire and she is disqualified from Liuye University. As for Wen Bing, he is curious about Sang Tian because he can clearly see her face when he has facial blindness. When he bumps into her again, he quietly leaves her his umbrella as it is snowing and she is sitting on the bench feeling sad over her situation.

Episode 2

Sang Tian notices the umbrella and the logo on it. Tired of her misfortune, Sang Tian looks for the granny again who advises her to take back a kiss from Wen Bing to change her luck. As Sang Zhan and her best friend, Fang Xiao Rou, also seem to be affected by their connection to her, they encourage her to quickly kiss Wen Bing.

So, Sang Tian goes to look for him who is at the ice hockey entrance exam at Liuye University. Wen Bing is challenged by a team member to prove his worth. He purposely picks Sang Tian to be his partner to challenge Shen Wei Lian and Huang Hao Ran. Wen Bing and Sang Tian win the battle. Her attempts to kiss Wen Bing also end in failure. She notices the logo on his helmet which is the same as the one on the umbrella.

Sang Tian is evicted by her landlord for causing a fire in the apartment. But Liuye University accepts her out of the blue to join their men’s ice hockey club. Meng Qi is a senior at the university while Meng Na is his younger sister. Meng Na is admitted to join the figure skating team.

Sang Tian uses a stool to reach the upper shelves in the equipment room. Wen Bing takes it away to her annoyance. Sang Tian couldn’t help but does a few rounds of figure skating dressed as a girl. She recalls her mother who was also a figure skater. Wen Bing notices a girl skating from afar but is blinded by the lights.

Episode 3

Sang Tian notices Wen Bing near the pool and tries to push him into the water as revenge for taking away her stool. But he avoids it and lets her fall into the pool instead. Her wig comes off and she tries to stay underwater. She covers her head with a towel when she exits but Wen Bing already notices that she is a girl.

Wen Bing is planning to inform the management when Sang Tian shows him his Shuren Business School student card. She knows he has exchanged places with Min Jun since the latter is her brother’s dorm mate. She uses that information to threaten him into doing her bidding. Wen Bing purposely picks to share Sang Tian’s dorm and they become dorm mates.

Sang Tian is still trying to kiss Wen Bing. She pretends to faint to get a mouth-to-mouth resuscitation but Wen Bing wants to pump her chest instead. She immediately springs up. Wen Bing also tricks her to be the monitor for the team. When Sang Tian is late for training because of her menses, Coach Ma punishes her to take 100 hits as a goalkeeper. Wen Bing offers to share the punishment. He pretends that he is just afraid she will reveal his secret if she is kicked out of the team.

Xiao Rou asks Sang Tian to quit as the training is harsh and she is not a man. But Sang Tian wants to stay as being at Liuye University is her dream and she feels closer to her mother. Wen Bing overhears the conversation.

Back in the dorm, Sang Tian falls on top of Wen Bing onto the bed when she tries to get back the book on how to kiss him given to her by her brother.

Episode 4

Sang Tian scrambles off Wen Bing.

Coach Ma wants Sang Tian to coordinate the training schedule with the figure skating team. But Sang Tian is afraid she would be recognized by Coach Xue. Wen Bing refuses to help but later, still offers to give Coach Xue the memo on her behalf.

While looking for her brother’s book, Sang Tian spills co*ke onto Wen Bing’s bed. He sleeps on the floor and thinks that she spills it on purpose because she likes him. But Xiao Rou thinks Wen Bing likes Sang Tian instead when the latter relates to her what happened. Following Min Jun and Xiao Rou’s advice to Wen Bing and Sang Tian respectively, they start to test each other out. Sang Tian thinks Wen Bing likes her but not the other way round.

When Wen Bing see Sang Zhan with Sang Tian, he becomes jealous and asks her to go back to their dorm to wash his bedsheet that she had dirtied. They nearly kiss while doing the chore. While waiting for his sister, Sang Zhan bumps into Meng Na and they have a tiff.

Sang Tian eats with her brother after the washing. Wen Bing joins them. Sang Zhan introduces himself as Sang Tian’s good friend to test him out. Sang Zhan tells his sister that Wen Bing likes her which is why he keeps bullying her. But Wen Bing has got frustrated and blurts out that he doesn’t like her.

So, Sang Tian ignores him after his outburst even after he returns her brother’s book. Sang Tian falls asleep in the equipment room and gets locked out. Wen Bing manages to find her and carries her as she is freezing. On the way back, they play in the snow and she falls and accidentally kisses him again.

Episode 5

Sang Tian runs away and tells Sang Zhan and Xiao Rou. They wonder if her luck will change with that kiss.

An agent rings Sang Tian to inform her that there is a studio apartment available for rent near the university. Wen Bing acts indifferent when she says that she will move out. But Sang Tian has to swallow her pride and move back to the dorm when she is duped by the agent.

Coach Xue keeps trying to matchmake Coach Ma with Coach Zhang. Coach Ma is annoyed. She also wants her ice hockey team to do better than the figure skating team for a written test. The team members ask Sang Tian to persuade Wen Bing to get the study materials from Meng Na. Meng Na wants to help Wen Bing but is stopped by her friends.

Sang Tian manages to get the notes from Miao Miao by chance when she gives her senior some honest feedback on her figure skating routine. Wen Bing didn’t bother to ask Meng Na but gets them from Min Jun instead. When Wen Bing gets back late, the team members assume he has gone on a date with Meng Na after getting the notes.

The next day, Sang Tian finds out from Meng Na that Wen Bing didn’t have the notes from her. So, during the exam, Sang Tian tries to pass answers to Wen Bing. Coach Ma notices it. Wen Bing quickly takes the blame but Sang Tian admits she is the one at fault. Min Jun shows up to discuss with Coach Ma about Wen Bing’s cheating. He ends up exchanging contact with Coach Xue. Wen Bing and Sang Tian are ordered to clean the skating rink as punishment and end up in an accidental hug.

Episode 6

The ice hockey team’s score ties with the figure skating team. They celebrate with a hotpot meal. Wei Lian spills some food onto Sang Tian’s clothes. Wen Bing quickly offers her his jacket. When he leaves to take a call, the rest of the team thinks he is dating. But Wen Bing is just trying to get some oden for Sang Tian. However, he bumps into Meng Na. Sang Tian sees Meng Na feeding Wen Bing and is annoyed.

While letting off steam, Sang Tian tears Wen Bing’s jacket. She sews it back and embroiders a pig on it. Wen Bing sends Meng Na back and catches her when she trips. Xiao Xiao tells everyone. Sang Tian seems angry. The next day, Meng Na bumps into Sang Tian. She thinks Sang Tian likes her when the latter hugs her when she falls. Sang Tian gives her some bandages but unknowingly included a sanitary napkin.

Meng Na then tells Wen Bing that Sang Tian likes her and she is carrying girls’ stuff with her. Wen Bing is afraid Sang Tian’s secret will be exposed. He tells Meng Na to stay away from Sang Tian as she is a playboy. Meng Na happily thinks Wen Bing is just jealous.

Cross-Country Run

Wen Bing helps Sang Tian to prepare the markings for the team’s cross-country run. But Meng Na also turns up. Sang Tian offers her her gloves. But Coach Xue then calls Meng Na to go back for training. She rushes back and bumps into Sang Zhan. His jacket gets torn and they have another tiff. As Meng Na has run off with her gloves, Wen Bing offers his to Sang Tian.

Meng Na tells Sang Tian not to like her as she has someone in mind already. Sang Tian is flabbergasted. During the cross-country run, Sang Tian hides in the woods as she knows she can’t complete the trail. Wen Bing joins her. They rejoin the group for the final lap. When Wei Lian falls down, Sang Tian and Wen Bing go back to help him with the rest of the team.

Coach Ma is not happy as the whole team has failed but acknowledges that Sang Tian didn’t leave a teammate behind.

Episode 7

Coach Ma had caught Sang Tian and Wen Bing’s ruse of hiding in the woods. She orders them to run laps around the stadium as punishment. Wei Lian makes them his best buddies for their help. Meng Na calls Wen Bing but he rejects her call. He buys Sang Tian oden and teases her about his jacket’s embroidery.

Coach Ma finds out that Sang Tian is a girl through Coach Xue. She orders Sang Tian not to tell anyone until her expulsion is confirmed. Xiao Rou advises Sang Tian to properly say her farewell to Wen Bing. But she ends up telling him that she doesn’t want to play ice hockey anymore before their conversation is cut short by their teammates.

Sang Tian is sad and finds it hard to say goodbye. Coach Xue thinks Sang Tian is pitiful. Coach Ma tells Sang Tian to sit out the practice. She orders Wen Bing to practice passing but his facial blindness slows down his reaction. Wen Bing insists on Sang Tian that she must stay on in the team.

Meng Na and Sang Zhan are playing the same online game as teammates. She asks him for love advice and he teaches her how to woo the guy that she likes. Sang Tian embroiders another picture on Wen Bing’s jacket. He scolds her for messing with his jacket. She retorts that she hates him for being a hypocrite and oppressor. She asks him to get another teammate as she will move out.

Episode 8

Wen Bing sees that Sang Tian has embroidered a snowman on his jacket. Sang Tian also regrets fighting with Wen Bing. Miao Miao suggests that she writes a letter instead to say what is on her mind.

Coach Xue is having a date with Min Jun. She over-orders. They run into Coach Ma. Min Jun’s card is declined. Coach Ma offers to pay for him but sends a message to Coach Xue to be careful of men like Min Jun. Coach Ma keeps Min Jun’s bag when he left it at the restaurant. Wen Bing’s health report is inside the bag.

Facial Blindness Exposed

Wen Bing leaves a note for Sang Tian and offers the jacket to her. Min Jun bumps into Sang Tian and asks her to get back the bag from Coach Ma. She quietly enters her office. She also overhears the seniors talking about Wen Bing pestering Meng Na and how much they dislike him. Sang Tian finds out about Wen Bing’s facial blindness when the report falls out of the bag.

The doctor’s advice is for Wen Bing to spend more time with Sang Tian to find out why he can only see her face and not others. He reads Sang Tian’s farewell letter to him and suspects Coach Ma must have found out about Sang Tian’s gender. He asks the coach to re-consider. Coach Ma feels that maybe Sang Tian loves ice hockey like her. For the Freshmen vs Seniors competition, she tells them that she will grant them any wish if they could defeat the seniors. This gives Sang Tian hope.

Wen Bing pretends that he didn’t read the letter. Sang Tian is sorry for being impulsive. She promises to treat him oden for the whole semester. Sang Tian tells Xiao Rou about Wen Bing’s facial blindness. Xiao Rou opines Wen Bing might lose interest in Sang Tian once he is cured and can see everyone’s faces clearly.

Sang Tian asks Wen Bing to teach her shooting skills. She thinks he is playing tricks on her and retaliates with a prank. Then, he holds her to correct her shooting posture and she couldn’t focus.

Episode 9

Wen Bing rejects Meng Na’s request for a date with the excuse that he needs to practice. Min Jun repays Coach Ma and also gives her a hand cream as gift. She then finds out from Coach Xue that it is a free gift. Sang Tian tells her brother about Wen Bing’s facial blindness. He finally understands why Wen Bing can spot his sister so quickly from the security cameras when she got locked out in the equipment room earlier.

Yan Wu Xu has a tiff with Wen Bing and Sang Tian during practice. Meng Na tells Wu Xu off. She also wipes Wen Bing’s sweat and accompanies him to buy drinks. Meng Qi accuses Wen Bing of taking advantage of Meng Na. Wei Lian’s heart is beating fast when he holds Sang Tian during the practice.

Sang Tian follows Wen Bing and Meng Na to the convenience store. She feels jealous when Wen Bing seems to be taking photos of Meng Na. Meng Na asks Sang Tian to take a photo of her with Wen Bing. She thinks Sang Tian is still jealous that she likes Wen Bing. Later, Wen Bing gives Sang Tian the photo that he had taken earlier when she does well during practice. It is actually a shadow of the 2 of them rather than a picture of Meng Na.

Meng Na and Sang Zhan communicate online again but they still don’t know each other. The match with the seniors is scheduled for the afternoon. Wen Bing is worried that Sang Tian has to leave if they lose. Min Jun thinks he should make Coach Ma happy so that Sang Tian can stay even if defeated. Xiao Rou asks Sang Tian to perform a dance with her for a roadshow.

Episode 10

The match is changed to morning. Wu Xu purposely leaves out Wen Bing, Sang Tian, and Wei Lian from the circulation list to inform everyone about the change. Wen Lian overhears their plan but gets locked in the toilet. He only manages to send a message to Wen Bing who quickly looks for Sang Tian. He finds her dancing in a disguise. Sang Tian is afraid he will recognize her and runs. Wen Bing pretends that he doesn’t know her but drops the message that the match is now in the morning.

Sang Tian quickly changes back into her male persona. Wen Bing offers her a ride on his motorcycle and she hugs him during the ride. Wei Lian is freed by the cleaners and accuses Wu Xu in front of Meng Na. Min Jun buys a present for Coach Ma to try to make her happy but she is annoyed instead.

It would be considered a win for the freshmen if they are able to secure a tie with the seniors. Wen Bing hurts his arm as the Meng Qi and Wu Xu play rough. But they are still able to secure a draw. Sang Tian gets to stay and becomes assistant monitor to Wen Bing. But Wen Bing suffers a dislocation following the match. Meng Na wants to take care of him but Wen Bing hints to Min Jun to shoo her away. Min Jun passes the task to Sang Tian instead.

Coach Ma returns the gift to Min Jun. Meng Qi gets scolded by Meng Na, Miao Miao, and Coach Ma for his teammates’ bullying. Sang Tian sends Wen Bing back to the dorm and then wants to go out to meet Xiao Rou.

Episode 11

Wen Bing doesn’t want to let Sang Tian go and asks her to help him to wash his hair. She meets Xiao Rou later for shopping and manicure. Wen Bing looks for her and finds her with polished nails. Sang Tian lies to him that she is testing out nail colors for her girlfriend and introduces Xiao Rou as the girlfriend.

Coach Xue tells Coach Ma that she now has a new boyfriend. Wei Lian has booked a homestay outing for their break but Coach Ma tells them that Wen Bing has to stay in the dorm due to his injury. They feel bad for leaving Wen Bing behind. So, Sang Tian lies to him that they are going for training instead. The team members temporarily block Wen Bing from their social media accounts to avoid letting him know the truth.

Wen Bing finds out through Min Jun because Sang Tian has forgotten to block the latter from her social media account. He arrives at the homestay and the team has to pretend that they are undergoing training. Sang Tian is having her menses and asks Sang Zhan to bring her some sanitary napkins. Sang Zhan ends up fighting with Meng Na for the hired ride. They end up going to the same place. They fight again when leaving the car. The driver returns Meng Na’s purse to Sang Zhan when she left it in the car.

Sang Zhan passes his sister the sanitary napkins. Meng Na looks for Wen Bing but goes the wrong way because of Sang Zhan’s mistake in putting back up the signboard that he had knocked over. Wen Bing pairs with Sang Tian to pick fruits. He confronts her about her lies on the training.

Episode 12

Wei Lian keeps thinking why Sang Tian pairs up with Wen Bing. It begins to snow. Sang Tian notices the logo on Wen Bing’s umbrella. He says anyone can buy it. So, she thinks it is just a coincidence that she found the same umbrella earlier. When Sang Tian jumps and falls, she sprains her ankle. Wen Bing catches her. He helps to massage her ankle.

Sang Tian thanks him for helping her to win the match against the seniors. He says it is because he loves the game rather than because of her. He had quit playing before because of some issues but when he took it up again, he vowed to try his best each time. She tells Wen Bing that she isn’t sure if she really loves the game like he does. Sang Tian just wants to be in Liuye University because it is her mother’s alma mater.

Meng Na and Sang Zhan quarrels again because he messed with the signboard. Her dress gets torn. Sang Zhan offers her his jacket and returns her purse. Their relationship improves and she offers him her scarf to beat the cold. They agree to meet for her to return the jacket.

Sang Zhan And His Online Friend

Wen Bing tells everyone that Sang Tian has a girlfriend to deflect the attention that she has made him breakfast. Wei Lian is feeling awkward with Sang Tian. Wen Bing squeezes into their room for the night. He keeps pushing Wei Lian to the edge to give Sang Tian space. He also slaps Wen Bing in the middle of the night.

Min Jun helps Coach Ma with a flat tire and accidentally touches her hand. She helps him to wipe away the stain on his face. They exchange contact before leaving. Coach Ma is angry that Wen Bing has gone out although injured. She also decides that the freshmen will take on Qianbei University in a friendly match. Meng Qi doesn’t like Coach Ma’s decision to sideline the seniors.

Sang Zhan finds out that the girl he has been communicating online with is Meng Na when she describes the situation from the day before. Sang Tian reminds Xioa Rou to play her role as her girlfriend.

Episode 13

Sang Zhan purposely makes Meng Na wait and doesn’t show up for their meeting. It is revenge against her for wooing Wen Bing as he sees the latter as his sister’s boyfriend. Wen Bing intentionally teaches Sang Tian how to flirt with Xiao Rou. He asks her to role play to get physically close to her. She thinks he must be womanizer and a flirt.

The team knows that they will lose the match against Qianbei University. Sang Tian sets a target for them to score a goal. Wei Lian is not being himself. The star player of the opposing team, Shen Qiao Di, is his brother. Wei Lian has always lost to him since young and Qiao Di looks down at Wei Lian for being weak. Miao Miao tells Wei Lian not to lose to himself if he doesn’t want to be looked down upon.

Wen Bing knows Wei Lian and Qiao Di are brothers. Wei Lian lacks determination and self-confidence when facing his brother. The team lost without scoring a goal. Xiao Xiao is angry at Wei Lian for playing badly. Wei Lian tells the team who Qiao Di is to him. He begins to skip classes and training. Coach Ma threatens to expel him. Sang Tian tries to talk to Wei Lian but he still feels like giving up. She is also angry at Wen Bing who seems unconcerned.

Sang Tian hears Qiao Di talking to Miao Miao. She is angry that he doesn’t want recognize his own brother and challenges him to a match. If she wins, he will need to apologize to Wei Lian. Sang Tian asks Wen Bing about Qiao Di’s weaknesses but he refuses to answer. Wen Bing just tells her to think of her own strengths instead. The match begins.

Episode 14

Miao Miao informs Wei Lian about Sang Tian challenging Qiao Di. Wei Lian rushes to the rink to take over the challenge midway though but they still lose. Qiao Di mentions to his brother about his 2 good friends. Miao Miao lets them know it is Wen Bing who has been helping them behind the scenes. Wen Bing challenged Qiao Di to a bet. He won and Qiao Di is forced to take up Sang Tian’s challenge. Sang Tian realizes she has misunderstood Wen Bing.

Back in the dorm, Sang Tian teases Wen Bing for being a paper tiger. He corners her. Wei Lian opens the door and knocks Wen Bing into Sang Tian resulting in a kiss. Wen Bing can see Wei Lian’s face momentarily. Wei Lian gets out of the room in embarrassment. Xiao Rou advises Sang Tian to get Wen Bing together and explain the situation to Wei Lian. Wei Lian assures her that he doesn’t think that there is anything between her and Wen Bing.

Min Jun is meeting Coach Ma. But he sees Coach Xue getting dumped and comforts her. Coach Ma arrives and misunderstands the situation. She is angry with Min Jun. Hao Ran is on leave again. An open game is coming soon and the students can invite their families to watch. Coach Ma asks Wen Bing to invite his mother. Sang Tian recalls her mother and misses her.

Secret Exposed

Wen Bing’s arm is healed and the sling is removed. Miao Miao thanks Sang Tian for helping Wei Lian. Meng Qi is wooing Miao Miao who uses Sang Tian to reject him. Meng Na comforts her brother and teaches him how to woo Miao Miao. Wen Bing steals Sang Tian’s book and uses the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation ruse to get Sang Tian to kiss him. But she could see through his act. Min Jun tells Wen Bing that the must have fallen for Sang Tian when he keeps drawing her pictures.

Wei Lian goes into Sang Tian’s room while she is in the shower. She doesn’t know he is there when she exits to get some items and disappears back into the bathroom. Wei Lian finds out that she is a girl.

Episode 15

Wei Lian asks Xiao Rou about her relationship with Sang Tian. He is suspicious of her answers and now knows Sang Tian’s gender. Wei Lian asks Miao Miao what to do if he finds out his best friend’s secret. Miao Miao advises him to pretend not to know but quietly protect her and her secret. Wen Bing is now suspicious Wei Lian might know about San Tian’s gender through his behavior.

Hao Ran is late again and gets reprimanded. He is angry and they think his poor discipline is due to a breakup with his girlfriend. Wen Bing tells Sang Tian that he has someone he likes and won’t breakup. But that person is himself!

Coach Ma blocks Min Jun who asks Coach Xue to clarify things for him. But Coach Ma tells Coach Xue to arrange a date for her instead. Hao Ran has been absent for a few days. Sang Tian asks Wei Lian to go and look for Hao Ran together. Wen Bing gets jealous and stops him. He goes with Sang Tian instead. Hao Ran is absent because his mother has injured her leg and he wants to help her to manage her car workshop. The whole team chips in to help Hao Ran in his workshop and Wen Bing also arranges for an orthopedic for his mother.

Wen Bing’s Mother

Wen Bing’s mother, Cheng Min Li, has come back. He introduces her to Sang Tian who accidentally lets slip about his absence from Shuren Business School. Wen Bing’s mother doesn’t agree with his ice hockey dream. Meng Na chats online with Sang Zhan again. She tells him that she wants to impress Wen Bing’s mother. Sang Zhan tricks her and Meng Na ends up being accuse of littering in front of Min Li.

Sang Tian is sorry for giving Wen Bing away. But he assures her that it is not her fault as his mother already knew earlier. He vows not to compromise on his dream and sees her mother as being hypocritical. Wen Bing quarrels with his mother again when she treats the team to lunch and buys them gifts which disrupt their training schedule. He accuses her of being his greatest obstacle. Sang Tian is worried about Wen Bing and looks for him.

Episode 16

Wen Bing recalls her mother used to encourage him to play ice hockey. He tells Sang Tian that he is envious of Hao Ran who has a supportive mother. On the other hand, Sang Tian says that she is envious of him for still having the chance to gain his mother’s recognition as her mother is no longer around. She tells Wen Bing that his mother might come round to accept his choice if he wins competitions. Wen Bing promises Sang Tian that he wouldn’t leave without her permission.

Min Jun persuades Min Li to accept Wen Bing’s decision failing which he pretends to be angry and scolds her for being bad-tempered and pretentious. Wen Bing apologizes to the team for being impulsive. They forgive him.

Meng Na Gets Drunk

Sang Zhan advises Meng Na to knit something for Wen Bing’s mothers birthday. It turns out ugly but he pretends that it looks good. But Min Li rejects her gift. She also tells Meng Na not to be deceitful. Min Li thinks that Meng Na’s father is using her daughter as a bait to save his ailing company. She bluntly tells Meng Na that his son wouldn’t like her. Meng Na is unhappy and gets drunk. Sang Zhan gets her to a room and plays online game with her throughout the night. When she wakes up the next morning, they quarrel again.

Sang Tian finds out that Wen Bing is still angry with his mother and has discarded her birthday gift. She tries to give Min Li the ticket to their game and persuades her to attend. She declines. Wen Bing is angry with Sang Tian and scolds her for minding his business. They argue and he explains that he just doesn’t want to see her hurt because of him.

Min Jun drops by Wen Bing’s training. He asks him to kiss Sang Tian again so that his facial blindness will go away. Sang Tian overhears the conversation. Min Jun tries to get Coach Ma to listen to him but she ignores him. Meng Qi wants to confront Wen Bing for hurting Meng Na.She tries to stop her brother. During the tussle, paint fall on top of the jerseys.

Episode 17

Wen Bing gives a pep talk to the team to do their best for their match against the seniors. Both teams then end up wearing the same colors because one team’s jerseys have been soiled with paint. As Wen Bing has facial blindness, he finds it hard to cope and performs poorly. His mother has also secretly comes to watch the game.

Coach Ma wants to replace Wen Bing during the break. Sang Tian pleads with her not to. She looks for Wen Bing and kisses him. She also asks him not to give up and disappoint his mother. With the kiss, Wen Bing can now see other people’s faces. The team ties the score before Wen Bing’s sight turns blurry again. But he has gained confidence and the freshmen team wins the match.

Sang Tian tries to explain the kiss after the match. She tells him that it is revenge as he had kissed her a few times before. Wen Bing and his mother reconcile. She decides to hire a top coach for the team and encourages his son not to give up easily. Wen Bing gives her mother the birthday gift.

Min Jun tells Wen Bing that Sang Tian must love him if she kissed him. Coach Ma is still ignoring Min Jun. Coach Xue tells Min Jun to be patient with Coach Ma. Wen Bing comes back with a sling and claims that the doctor is afraid of a relapse. He uses that excuse to get Sang Tian to help him wash his hair. Sang Tian notices Wen Bing’s student card when it drops out of his bag.

Episode 18

Sang Tian finds out Wen Bing’s birthday from his student card and quietly arranges with the rest of the team members to give him a surprise party. Coach Ma is on a blind date arranged by Coach Xue but the person turns out to be Min Jun. She gets angry and leaves.

Sang Tian delegates different tasks for the team members to get the party ready. Wei Lian is happy that he has been paired with Sang Tian to bake the cake. Wen Bing is feeling suspicious as the team is behaving oddly. Sang Tian leads him back to their dorm room. She pretends to sleep but later gets her brother to take her place while she goes out to shop for the party needs.

Sang Tian sees a dog figurine which she buys for Wei Lian. It is the same one that Wei Lian has given her and Wen Bing to symbolize their friendship. But the gift is mistakenly exchanged at the cashier as the packaging is the same. Meng Na gives Wen Bing a gift. Wen Bing is disappointed that Sang Tian has a gift for Wei Lian but not him.

Ti Amo

Wei Lian opens Sang Tian’s gift and it is a scarf with a card that says “ti amo”. He thinks Sang Tian loves him. Wen Bing sees them together and gets jealous. But he is happy again with the surprise birthday party. Sang Tian also clarifies with Wei Lian that he has got the wrong gift to Wen Bing’s relief. Wen Bing tells Sang Tian that “ti amo” means pig head. So, she keeps repeating it to him.

Coach Ma bumps into Min Jun again at a convenience store. She is still angry with him and refuses his offer to pay for her stuff. The convenience store owner pays for her instead. Sang Tian gives Wen Bing a knitted sweater as a birthday gift. He tells her that is merely a repayment for the one she torn. He wants another gift from her and corners her again. Wei Lian opens the door to return the scarf to her. It bangs her and she kisses Wen Bing again.

Episode 19

Wen Bing instinctively slams the door and hits Wen Bing’s nose. He quickly returns the jacket and then goes to Xiao Rou’s cafe. He is disappointed to which Xiao Rou tells him that is a sign of love. Sang Tian is happy what Wen Bing is wearing the sweater she knitted.

A few students have to re-sit a test including Sang Tian and Wei Lian. Wei Lian wants to let Sang Tian know his feelings. He agrees to a group study arrangement. Wen Bing offers his uncle’s art studio for a place to study. He pairs up with Sang Tian to guide her. Wei Lian orders a special drink for Sang Tian with a confession note. Wen Bing grabs it before Sang Tian finds out.

Sang Tian feels Wei Lian has been acting strangely. Wen Bing tells her it is because she has been giving signals to Wei Lian with her gift. He tutors her but she falls asleep instead. She repeats “ti amo” when he teases her for being a pig. Wei Lian comes by and Sang Tian makes an excuse to escape. She wanders around the studio and comes across an umbrella with a familiar logo. Sang Tian suspects it was Wen Bing who had left an umbrella for her previously.

Promotional Shoot

Xiao Xiao and Li He have a tiff while studying. Xiao Xiao storms off and Li He feels sad as they are good friends since school. Li He pretends to faint from low blood sugar to get Xiao Xiao to open up. Xiao Xiao is still feeling down over his poor match performance. Li He and Hao Ran convince him that they play as a team.

Min Jun has an argument with the convenience store owner again. Coach Ma turns up for a date with the owner. Min Jun is sad. Coach Xue calls him to complain that she has been dumped again. They both get drunk over their heartbreak.

Xiao Rou thinks Wen Bing loves Sang Tian and tells her so. Wei Lian tries to invite Sang Tian to the movies but Wen Bing stops him. Wen Bing tells Sang Tian that he has someone he loves but hasn’t confessed. Sang Tian is jealous. Xiao Rou advises Wei Lian to bring the girl he loves to the amusem*nt park. Wen Bing has to do a promotional shoot with Meng Na for the university. Everybody thinks they are a matching pair. Sang Tian is unhappy.

Meng Na informs Sang Zhan of her date with Wen Bing through their online chat. Sang Zhan is not happy that she is dating his future brother-in-law. Sang Tian is walking around the stalls and looking at a unicorn pendant necklace. Wen Bing shows up.

Episode 20

Sang Tian daydreams of Wen Bing giving her the necklace. She claims she is looking at it for Xiao Rou when Wen Bing appears. He tells her he is planning to confess to the girl he loves. Sang Tian is assuming she must be Meng Na.

Sang Zhan tricks Sang Tian to take up a job at the amusem*nt park. She has to wear a character costume and distribute flyers. Wei Lian overhears the conversation and takes up the same job. He plans to confess to Sang Tian on a ferris wheel ride. Wen Bing is thinking the same thing.

Coach Ma is on a date with the convenience store owner, Qin Lang. He picks up a lacy dress for her to try. Min Jun is tailing them and overhears Qin Lang talking to another woman on the phone. He tells Coach Ma about it. Qin Lang claims that it is his sister. Both men quarrel with each other and Coach Ma leaves in exasperation.

Sang Tian is unhappy to see Wen Bing and Meng Na being close during the photo shoot at the amusem*nt park. After the shoot, Meng Na notices the unicorn necklace. Wen Bing claims Sang Tian has asked him to buy it on her behalf to give to Xiao Rou. Wen Bing also dons the same character costume. Sang Zhan arrives and does the same to lead Meng Na away. Meng Na assumes it is Wen Bing underneath the costume and confesses her feelings. She is shocked when it turns out to be Sang Zhan.

Confession

Wei Lian fails to get Sang Tian onto the ferris wheel because Wen Bing beats him to it. Sang Tian thinks it is Wei Lian as everyone is wearing the same costume. Wei Lian follows them in the next car. He is disappointed that Sang Tian seems to love Wen Bing judging by their antics in the front car. Wei Lian goes back to talk to Xiao Rou about his heartbreak. She comforts him which makes him feel better.

Wen Bing confesses to Sang Tian during the fireworks. He gives her the unicorn necklace and kisses her forehead. Sang Tian doesn’t know how to react and feels awkward as she assumes Wen Bing doesn’t know that she is a girl. Meng Na just realizes that she has got married to Sang Zhan in their online game when she was drunk. She is still annoyed with him.

Sang Tian doesn’t know how to tell Wen Bing that she is a girl. She shows him a picture of her as a girl and then claims it is her sister to gauge her reaction.

Episode 21

Wen Bing tells Sang Tian that her appearance doesn’t matter as he loves her as she is. Sang Tian feels she has to tell Wen Bing the truth. He kisses her when she is about the let him know her secret while cleaning the rink together. Then, his mother appears. Min Li speaks to Sang Tian privately and shows her a photo of her kissing Wen Bian. She wants Sang Tian to make the right decision. Wu Xu has given Min Li the photo.

Sang Tian relates to Xiao Rou that she can’t tell Min Li her secret because that could get her expelled. Meng Na is unsure of her feelings for Sang Zhan after the confession and kiss at the amusem*nt park. Min Li asks to see Sang Tian again. She accuses her of being a liar as she has found out that Sang Tian is a girl. Min Li wants Sang Tian to leave her son.

Sang Tian uses Wen Bing’s facial blindness as an excuse to leave him. She accuses him of using her as a cure. Wen Bing shows Sang Tian all her portraits that he has drawn. Sang Tian pretends that she isn’t touched and leaves him. Both Sang Tian and Wen Bing are miserable. Min Jun advises Wen Bing to forget his pride and take action if he really loves Sang Tian.

Min Li is going to withdraw Wen Bing from Liuye University. Sang Tian pleads with her not to do so because she is the only one who can cure Wen Bing of his facial blindness. She is willing to stay away from Wen Bing and announces a girlfriend within 3 days as a condition. But Xiao Rou is away. Miao Miao wants to be her girlfriend instead.

Episode 22

Miao Miao announces to everyone that she is Sang Tian’s girlfriend. Sang Tian wonders if Wen Bing notices that it is all an act. Min Jun exposes Qin Lang’s relationships with other women. Qin Lang admits it but also puts Coach Ma down. She empties her bowl of noodles onto his head. Min Jun drags her out and is willing to give him another chance.

Miao Miao knows that Sang Tian is a girl from the first time they met and tells her so. She overheard Sang Tian’s conversation about needing a girlfriend and offers to help. Miao Miao also advises Sang Tian to talk to Wen Bing because she suspects he already knows the truth.

Wen Bing tells his mother that he knows Sang Tian is a girl. He explains that Sang Tian wants to remain in Liuye University because of the connection to her mother. When Sang Tian arrives, Wen Bing holds her hand and declares that he loves her to his mother. He also tells her mother that Sang Tian doesn’t know that he already found out about her gender. His mother is agreeable to their relationship on the condition that he moves out of the dorm and they behave in public as 2 men. Sang Tian explains that when they were caught kissing, it is to help him to overcome his facial blindness for the match. His mother is surprised.

Dating In Secret

Sang Tian demands to know when Wen Bing found out about her gender. He asks her to take a guess. Wen Bing puts on the unicorn necklace for Sang Tian again. She asks him back for his drawings. Wei Lian sees them together and is happy for them. He purposely teases Xiao Rou that she should be miserable since Sang Tian has found someone else. Xiao Rou has to put on an act.

Min Jun goes on a date with Coach Ma. She sprains her ankle as she is wearing heels. Min Jun carries her and tells her to dress in clothes that she is comfortable with as he likes her the way she is. He sends her home but they end up receiving calls from Coach Xue who is crying due to another breakup. Coach Ma is shy in being seen together with Min Jun and wants them to arrive separately.

Sang Tian finds all her portraits under her pillow. Wen Bing and Sang Tian have to date in secret. But their team mates still bump into them which forces them to eat together. Meng Na ends up picking Sang Zhan in a quick ask and answer session when her friend tests her out. Her friend that arranges for her to meet Sang Zhan.

Sang Tian’s team members are in her room and find all the drawings. They demand to know who drew them. Wen Bing arrives and admits to being the artist. They demand that he draws them too. Wen Bing agrees. He kisses Sang Tian in the bathroom to overcome his facial blindness so that he can draw them. Later, they bump into Sang Zhan. They tell him that Wen Bing already knows Sang Tian’s gender. Meng Na appears and overhears them.

Episode 23

Meng Na is angry with Sang Zhan for lying to her and only caring about his sister. Wei Lian brings a small plant as a gift for Xiao Rou and tells her that he has moved on. He lets slip that the girl he has a crush on is Sang Tian which means that he knows her gender. He quickly promises Xiao Rou that the secret will be safe with him.

Sang Zhan tries to placate Meng Na. They end up being locked out at the amusem*nt park’s Ice Castle. He messages Sang Tian who calls Xiao Rou as well. While rushing to the amusem*nt park, Wen Bing is injured in a mishap while saving Sang Tian and lands in hospital with a concussion. Xiao Rou and Wei Lian get Sang Zhan and Meng Na out of the Ice Castle before rushing to the hospital. Sang Tian accompanies an unconscious Wen Bing throughout the night.

Min Li could see Sang Tian’s love for her son. She apologizes for misunderstanding her previously. Sang Zhan sends Meng Na back to the university. He reminds her not to divulge his sister’s secret. Wu Xu overhears their conversation.

Secret Exposed

Wen Bing is awake. He can now see his mother’s face. Min Li is moved and delighted. Then, the tarot-reading granny turns up. She is actually Wen Bing’s grandmother. His granny relates that Sang Tian was the girl who was by his side when he had an accident years ago. Sang Tian was the last person he saw before he went into a coma. Wen Bing’s granny has been looking for Sang Tian and then spins the “kiss the bad luck away” story to encourage her to get close to Wen Bing.

Sang Tian’s secret is exposed. Coach Ma is unable to persuade the principal to let Sang Tian stay with the ice hockey team. Coach Xue offers to rope her into the figure skating team. Her team members are sad that Sang Tian couldn’t play with them for the upcoming league. But the consolation is she would still be around.

Sang Tian dresses as a girl and has a dance with Wen Bing in their room. They are about to kiss when their team members barges in. They are there to send Sang Tian off to the female dorm.

Episode 24

The ice hockey team members miss Sang Tian’s presence. She can’t get into the venue as her old student card isn’t valid anymore. But she turns up to encourage them during their night training when no one else is around. After the training, she skates together with Wen Bing. He carries her and assures her that she will remain the most important person to him even if his facial blindness is now cured.

The match between Liuye University and Qianbei University is on. But Sang Tian cannot get in without a valid student card. She has to watch it through her phone just outside the stadium. The team members are quarreling during the break after the opponent manages to score to tie the match. Then, Wu Xu is injured and Xiao Xiao has to replace him as the goalkeeper. The team is trailing by 2 goals during halftime.

Meng Qi rushes to get Sang Tian and asks her to replace him. The team’s morale is lifted and they go on to win the match. After the match, Sang Tian is at the rink again to say her farewell. She is planning to leave Liuye University although Coach Xue announces that she has been formally accepted into the figure skating team. This is because Sang Tian finds out that her true love is ice hockey rather than figure skating. However, Coach Ma declares that Sang Tian could stay because the university has decided to have a women’s ice hockey team.

Coach Man and Min Jun are now engaged. Sang Zhan is helping Meng Na to get a toy from the claw machine. Wei Lian is at Xiao Rou’s cafe again and happily drinking the tea she specially made for him. Wen Bing and Sang Tian are back at the place where their first accidental kiss took place. Now that he can see everyone clearly, he tells Sang Tian that she is still the only one in his eyes. They share a kiss in the snow.

Other Youthful Romance Dramas

There are plenty of choices when it comes to youthful romance dramas. The Love Equations is one of them for 2020. It also features 2 university students embarking on their first love experience. In A Class Of Her Own also has a bunch of students as the central theme of the drama. However, the setting is in ancient times. While the romance isn’t the entire focus, it does have a cross-dressing element just like My Unicorn Girl. Another production that is even more similar is Skate In Love which also features ice hockey and other skating sports. This one has the characters’ growth as part of the plot to give it a little more depth.
