Our designers painted the siding with Benjamin Moore’s Aegean Olive, a deep shade that is so breathtaking we included it on our round-up of the best paint exterior house colors for 2022. To add more layers to this dark olive green house, we mixed in natural building materials like stone and wood. The iron elements and modern lighting amplify the curb appeal with an industrial look.

This dark olive green house fully embraces earth tones. From the walkway pavers and wood shutters to the copper gutters and wood porch columns, it’s all working together. To stick with the inspired-by-nature palette this client requested, we opted for Sherwin Williams’ Pewter Green — a lovely shade of olive with strong gray undertones — on the cladding.

White trim provides a clean look when paired with just about any field color. This client wanted an on-trend dark olive green house that felt warm and welcoming. Our designers recommended James Hardie’s Neighborhood Park siding. To provide contrast, we painted the trim with Benjamin Moore’s White Dove.
#4 // Olive Green Siding with Natural Elements
Olive green siding meshes beautifully with natural elements like stone and wood. While Sherwin Williams’ Dried Thyme isn’t quite as deep as some of the other dark olive green house designs on this list, we had to include it, as it’s one of our favorite exterior house colors for 2022. The gray-green color has some powerful khaki undertones that are only enhanced by all of the natural materials our designers incorporated into this design.

This client wanted a rustic design with a daring color scheme, so we suggested Dakota Woods Green on the siding. For the trim, we opted for Sherwin Williams’ Tricorn Black — one of the deepest black paint colors we use. The thick natural wood columns on the deck bring out the rustic, natural feel of this home.
#7 // Ranch Home with a Rustic Vibe
You don’t need a larger-than-life home laden with logs to harness a rustic look. As a stalwart in the realm of earth tones, olive green lends itself to rustic exterior design styles. Above, our designers chose Pewter Green for the siding and included some noteworthy wood accents without over-doing it. The cultured stone skirting adds even more texture.

As shown in our earlier example using Dakota Woods Green, when a saturated hue is paired with other dark tones, it has a dramatic effect. Contrastingly, here our designers juxtaposed the deep olive with one of our go-to warm greige shades: Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter. The combination of the two creates a warmer, more inviting aesthetic.
